Sooke has a sports leisure complex with a modern pool and arena as well as sports fields for all ages. Mountain biking, road bike races, and triathlon events are held in Sooke every year. Shopping and Services

Sooke has a vibrant central village shopping area offering all major services within walking distance of Woodland Creek. Specialty art stores and galleries attract visitors year round. Sooke is located 20 minutes from the Western Communities major shopping hub in Langford, which includes most major national retailers. Victoria is located 40 minutes from Sooke and offers all of the major services of a capital city including an international airport, float plane and helicopter terminals in the Victoria harbour with easy access to Vancouver and Seattle as well as an abundance of shopping and services including major health care facilities.

Schools

Sooke enjoys some of the newest schools in the school district. There are four elementary schools including one French immersion school, one middle school, and one high school. The high school, middle school, and the French immersion school are all recently built. Ecole Poirer (K-5) and Journey Middle School (6-8) are directly adjacent to Woodland Creek. There are preschools and daycares located throughout the Sooke community.

Transportation

Sooke is serviced by BC Transit. Buses service the Sooke to Victoria routes on a regular scheduled basis. The schools have a bus program that services the whole area. A network of trails and sidewalks connect Woodland Creek with several schools and the downtown area.
